The Murrayfield Club
We were first put in touch with the Murrayfield Club (previously the Murrayfield dementia project) in the spring of 2022 as an outlet to distribute flowers to. We had been donated lots of seasonal flower bouquets and while not food, we couldn’t bear to leave them to be thrown away when we knew they could bring such enjoyment. The thought behind it was to be a lasting memory of the day out at the club that members could take home and enjoy for days afterwards.
Upon meeting with the projects coordinator, Lesley Webster, we were thrilled to find out that the club also provides a lunch for its group, which we could help provide meal ingredients for. Their chef Audrey is an absolute wizard and creates delicious and nutritious meals for the group on a very tight budget. So this has been a fantastic way to distribute some of the meats and, often quite random veg assortments we have donated by our store partners, and let Audrey work her magic!
In addition to the groups daytime club they also host the memory lane cafe every Friday morning which allows members of the community to attend, so sweet treats and flowers are always welcomed.
