Firrhill Breakfast Club

We were delighted to partner with Firrhill High School during the summer term of 2022 and continue throughout the terms since.

The teachers at the schools set up the breakfast club to provide a breakfast for children at the school who want one and had been providing the items themselves.

After finding out about food collections from a member of our team the teachers in charge of the breakfast club trialed collections for themselves at a local store, but unfortunately were unable to get foods that they could use at the breakfast club and were having to leave behind items that would then be wasted. 

We seen the opportunity there that we could collect the whole lot, distribute the foods that could be used by the breakfast club to them and then find alternative homes for the other items. Meaning instead of only one organisation being beneficiaries, we now have several. 

Partnering with Firrhill school breakfast club means that on the occasions where we get lots of pasties, the kids (and staff) are in for a breakfast treat! (Especially the chocolate ones) as well cereals, fruits and snack bars, which we often get purely because the packaging has been damaged. We are also proud to support their seasonal food banks with longer life items where possible.
