Preventing waste,
building community
Every day, perfectly good food is thrown away so we step in before that food is lost, making it available to the community in a way that’s simple and fair.
How it works
We collect surplus food from local supermarkets and businesses every day of the year.
That food is brought to our Hub, sorted, and made available to the public the same morning.
Visit us at 177 Gorgie Road.
Open daily from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Everyone is welcome.
Why it matters
Food waste isn’t just inconvenient. It’s a problem hiding in plain sight that every body can play a part in helping solve
When good food is thrown away:
businesses lose money
resources are wasted
communities miss out
By redistributing surplus food, we reduce waste, support our communities, in a space where people feel welcome and included.
What makes us different
Our model is designed to prevent waste and respect the food to help our community
We do this though:
Consistency – we operate almost every day of the year
Fairness – everyone follows the same system
Quality – we prioritise safe, usable, worthwhile food
It’s a simple idea, done properly.
