Help Tummies Not Trash raise funds
Tummies Not Trash operate every day apart from Christmas Day (as the shops are closed) and although the food is donated to us and we give it away from free, As a charity, we do still have running costs and expenses which we rely completely on donations to cover.
As well as applying for grant funding, we are extremely grateful for all of our supporters and have created a number of ways in which to donate to Tummies Not Trash, either directly through financial donations or through your actions, in your day to day life.
So how can I help?
Below are the ways we currently have and are gradually adding more. largely unless it is at a Tummies Not Trash official event, we request that you do not donate cash as with such a large and remote team, it is difficult to account for.
SumUp
You may see our QR code on our posters which will take you directly to our sum up donations page, you can choose any amount you like, all are appreciated, and donations are all anonymous as transactions are encrypted for your security
Bank Transfer
A number of supporters have told us that they would like to give a regular donation via standing order. At present we are not set up to accept direct debits but if you would like our bank details to set up a standing order, please email fundraising@tummiesnottrash.co.uk
JustGiving
We have made the decision not to join the Just giving platform at present as it charges charities a recurring fee for using the platform and this is not an expense we can currently justify
Zero Cost help
EasyFundraising
We have registered with cash back site easyfundraising that donates a small percentage of your online transaction to your chosen charity. You can add Tummies Not Trash as your chosen charity and when you’re doing your online shopping and the transaction will donate to Tummies Not Trash on your behalf.
It’s also very easy. Once registered, Easyfundraising has a simple browser extension tool that you can add to safari and chrome so that you don’t have to remember to go through easyfundraising app when searching. The extension tool will give you a reminder when you are browsing a site that offers a donation and all you need to do is carry on with the purchase you are already making. There is no additional cost.
Tesco Blue Tokens
We have applied to Tesco and Groundwork to be included in their fundraising selection. In each 3 month funding round Tesco customers decide what project they want to support by putting a blue token from the till into their chosen charities column.
Your next opportunity to help us and the stores supporting our fundraising will be posted on our social media channels.
Support us on socials
As a young charity we are yet to build up a following on social media channels. The food we collect and distribute reaches approximately 1000 people each and every week, yet our followers on social media are a fraction of that, and even fewer will regularly see our posts. This is in part why we have chosen to share updates through a WhatsApp community instead.
If you use social media, we would really appreciate your support by liking, following, sharing or commenting on our posts.

You can also join our WhatsApp community and share our updates from there.
Public Votes
A number of funding applications then go to public consultation and vote, Our last application has not finished their voting process but when the next one is available, we will circulate details on how to vote for us throughout our communication channels.
We are open to suggestions of available funds and also any opportunities to offer our supporters for zero cost. If you are aware of anything that we should consider, please get in touch.
***we are awaiting our application for Gift aid to be approved by HMRC, once this is recieved we will make Gift Aid declarations available to donors***
