Community Breakfast Clubs

If you are familiar with Tummies Not Trash you’ll know that all year around we save lots of bread, pastries and fruit & veg. Every week a considerable amount of this is distributed through our sharing shelves and breakfast clubs at local schools.
When the schools go on holidays, that food then has to our other partners which means it is often taken away from the communities that would normally benefit.
So this year we have decided that Tummies Not Trash will host our own community breakfast club at local venues. We will also have sharing shelves available to distribute the surplus food.
We’ve found that as well as the educational benefits, kickstarting the day with a hearty breakfast and encouraging healthy eating habits strengthens social connections and a sense of belonging.
Community breakfast clubs offer a range of benefits that extend beyond providing a morning meal. From promoting healthy eating habits and combating food insecurity to enhancing performance and fostering social connections, we hope that this club will play a vital role in building stronger, more cohesive communities. By prioritizing the well-being and nourishment of individuals, community breakfast clubs create a ripple effect of positive change, empowering individuals, and fostering a sense of belonging for all
What will we have to offer?
As we don’t know what foodstuffs we’ll get from day to day, we can’t guarantee any particular types of food. We will generally have a steady stream of toast, pastries, fruit and cereals.
Details of times and dates will all be listed on our website in June and circulated to our network.
This will be a trial for this summer but if successful this could be rolled out for other holiday seasons
